We did a sloth adoption after our zoo trip and I’m not even exaggerating… they were OBSESSED 😭

They carefully picked their sloth, named it, filled out adoption certificates, and then made the sweetest little baby books about them.

It turned into the most meaningful mix of nonfiction learning, writing, and pure joy—the kind of activity they don’t forget.

They were reading about sloths, writing facts, talking about habitats… but to them?
They were just taking care of their new little friend 🥹

This is the kind of learning I always want more of—
hands-on, emotional, and actually sticks.

My kids were OBSESSED with searching for animals with these.

They didn’t want to stop.

They were spotting animals, checking them off, and getting so excited every time they found one… it completely changed our zoo day.

And this is just ONE part of the zoo unit I use.

There’s also:✔ a scavenger hunt✔ an animal flipbook with facts + writing✔ hands-on math + STEM activities

So the learning doesn’t stop when you leave the zoo.

If you’re going to the zoo soon (or need something to keep your students engaged the whole time 😅), this makes it so much easier.
